YES, I want Maryland elected officials to pass legislation NOW to support home care workers!
Maryland home care workers are overworked, underappreciated, and underpaid. That’s why Care Come First Maryland is taking action! We want the Maryland legislature to pass laws to protect home care workers from exploitation by agencies by:
Raising the minimum wage to $16/hour for PCAs working for private agencies
Requiring agencies to directly hire PCAs/HHAs as employees and NOT independent contractors so workers receive overtime wages, Social Security contributions, and workers compensation if injured on the job.
Creating a professional licensed registry of home care workers with their trainings/certifications, similar to CNAs, nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals, allowing clients to find the skilled care they need
We need you to SIGN OUR PETITION NOW and show MD elected officials home care workers are SERIOUS about wanting change!
